This is a picture of a Westbound New Jersey Transit train taken at the PATH's Harrison station in New Jersey. This is one of my favorite places to take photos. New Jersey Transit and Amtrak trains bypass this station. Only PATH trains make the stop. The PATH tracks are third rail powered, while the NJT/Amtrak trains are powered by overhead wires. You can see all kinds of trains passing through. The station is also very quiet and peaceful. PATH has, of course, suspended service to the World Trade Center. PATH has even installed new maps on the trains which no longer show the WTC route. This should give you an idea of how long-term the situation is. During Weekdays and Weekends, there are three services. 33rd Street to Newark, 33rd Street to Hoboken, and Hoboken to Journal Square. During late nights, trains from 33rd Street stop at Hoboken, and then loop back to Newark, then back to 33rd. It's quite a round-about trip to Newark. It might be 33rd--Hoboken--Newark--Hoboken--33rd, but I'm not sure of the exact route. If anyone knows, please e-mail me. BACK
